QPR will attempt to keep Jimmy Smith at Loftus Road for the rest of the season when his three-month loan runs out after Christmas. And manager John Gregory confirmed he will try and persuade his Chelsea counterpart, José Mourinho, to agree .... Gregory said: "It's a long way off, but ideally we'd love to re-sign him on a five-month loan in January and I sincerely hope Chelsea will allow us to do that. "It's down to José and he's got to consider whether they'd be short of players for the Champions League or the Carling Cup because they would not get a recall option."
