Ex-QPR News: Rose, Forbes, Docherty, Carlisle, Brown, Holloway & Breaker

Matt Rose on Forbes - Yeovil Official Site
Matty Praises Old Friend Terrell

New signing Matty Rose has settled into life at Yeovil Town quickly, and is enjoying his football here.
One of the reasons for this is that his former Queens Park Rangers teammate Terrell Forbes was here to show him the ropes, and to help him settle in:
"I've not had many clubs, so it's been different for me," The former Arsenal trainee said.
"I'm not been used to going to different clubs and seeing new faces, so it was nice to have Terrell to talk to when I came here.
"The rest if the lads are great, so I have settled in very well."
And Matty is happy to be playing competitive football again, lining up with the rest of the team at the Keepmoat Stadium on Tuesday night for his full debut.
Playing at right back next to Terrell Forbes in the defence, he was reminded of how good a player he is, and what a great asset he is to any team he plays in:
"I always moan at him on the pitch as I always try and get him to move up the pitch," Matty Joked.
"He's great to have behind you though, because of his pace. He's like a rash and there are probably not many forwards who like to play against him.
"As I say, he's like a rash and must be a pain to play against, and having him in your team as a defender is a great asset...."

Wycombe Official TOMMY DOHERTY Shortlisted for League Two Player of the Month
Wanderers midfielder Tommy Doherty has been included in the four man shortlist for February's League Two Powerade Player of the Month.
'Doc' has made just three appearances this month but contributed largely to the seven points won in those games, almost completing a maximum 270 minutes in the process.
The man on loan from QPR controlled the middle of the park in the victory at Wrexham at the beginning of February and then netted his first goal for the club with a superb strike in the victory over Bury two weeks later.
Sandwiched between that was another busy display against Notts County and the type of performance that holds him in very high esteem with manager Paul Lambert.
"Tommy is a terrific player and he's done extremely well for us. We miss him when he's not in the side and it was a blow that he wasn't available on Saturday," he said.
Also in the running for the award, that will be announced Sky Sports' Goals on Sunday Show on Sunday 4th March, is Ciaran Toner of Grimsby, Lincoln City striker Spencer Weir-Daley and Stockport County stopper Wayne Hennessey Wycombe

Watford Official - AIDY ON CARLISLE LOAN MOVE
AIDY Boothroyd has explained the thinking behind the loan deal which has taken Clarke Carlisle to Kenilworth Road.
Boothroyd was quick to emphasise that the move will benefit Carlisle and Watford which ultimately is the reasoning behind the deal.
He said: "People will question my decision about sending Clarke Carlisle to Luton Town and I'm more than aware of the rivalry and why they would say that.
"A few clubs came in to enquire about Clarke but Luton were the only club to make that firm."
The Hornets' boss hopes that a month of regular competitive football will see Carlisle return ready for Premiership action.
"I spoke to Clarke and he said to me that he hoped the politics of the situation wouldn't get in the way of his welfare and I thought that was a fair thing to ask.
"Clarke has been playing reserve football, but nothing replicates first team action and both Watford and Clarke need him to be playing games at a good standard.
"The main thing is that this deal will benefit Clarke and it will benefit Watford while Luton will get the services of a great player for a short time.
"He will get five games under his belt with Luton and will come back to us a match-fit player." Watford Official

AT PLYMOUTH
Plymouth Official Site - Tim Breacker Taking Charge for Sick Holloway
TIM Breacker has had a busy week at Home Park with Argyle manager Ian Holloway struggling to recover from a virus.

The Pilgrims are gearing up for Saturday's Championship meeting with former boss Tony Pulis and his Stoke City team.

Breacker insisted that preparations had not been affected by Holloway's absence, with the coaching team of himself, Des Bulpin, Geoff Crudgington and Paul Maxwell all pulling together to ensure the players are ready for the game.

"It has not really affected anything," said Breacker.

"He [Holloway] gives everything 100% when he is here and, if he feels that he can't do that, then he trusts me, Des, Crudgie and Maxi to work with the lads."

The return of Tony Pulis to Home Park will undoubtedly add an edge to the game but Breacker was full of praise for the work the Welshman did in his nine months with Argyle.

The assistant boss watched Stoke slip to a disappointing 1-0 home defeat to Barnsley on Monday, but he is still expecting a tough match.

Breacker said: "It always adds something to the game. I don't know him personally but the job he did here was obviously very good at the time and exactly what was needed.

"At the time, he helped the club massively. I think everybody at the club has got a lot of respect for him.

"I went up there on Monday. I know the game was on Sky but you don't get the full view. Obviously, they will be very disappointed not to have won but they will be very difficult to play against.

"Tony's teams are always very disciplined and they will be exactly the same. They have still got a lot to go for and so have we. It should be an interesting game."

Another familiar face to Home Park could also be in action tomorrow with former Pilgrim Vincent Pericard winning his battle for fitness.

Pericard's return would be a huge boost for Pulis with the Stoke squad short of strikers. Midfielder Lee Hendrie, on loan from Aston Villa, was deployed in the vanguard against Barnsley.

"Lee Hendrie played up front with [Mamady] Sidibe, but I think Pericard is quite close to playing," said Breacker.

"I know he [Pericard] did not play in their reserve game on Tuesday, so he has got a chance of playing."

Vincent Pericard

The Stoke game will be quickly followed by Tuesday's trip to Sheffield Wednesday and then thoughts will turn to next Sunday's FA Cup quarter final tie with Watford.

Breacker admitted that the players were bound to have the Watford game in the back of their minds but he is looking for a similar reaction to the one shown after the fifth round win over Derby.

The Pilgrims beat the Rams on the Saturday and then had to deal with all the media hype surrounding the quarter final draw on the Monday before facing Colchester in the League on the Tuesday.

To their credit, the players showed their professionalism and focus by producing an excellent performance in a 3-0 trouncing of the Essex club.

"No matter what you say to the players they would not be human if that [Watford game] was not at the back of their minds," said Breacker.

"To be fair to them, they same thing happened when we played Derby and had the draw on the Monday.

"They got their feet back on the ground very quickly and the Colchester performance was exactly what we wanted.

"Since I have been here I can't speak highly enough of the lads in terms of their attitude and professionalism."
