Nottingham Forest boss Colin Calderwood has revealed why he made Lee Camp his second loan signing in the space of four days.
The 24 year old goalkeeper has checked-in at The City Ground from Queens Park Rangers until January and goes straight into the Forest squad for tomorrow's home game against Ipswich.
Carl Fletcher arrived on Friday on a six-week loan from Crystal Palace and made his debut in Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Rangers.
And Calderwood told us: "We've been running very light in the goalkeeping department. We let Dale Roberts got to Rushden & Diamonds; Paddy Gamble is at Mansfield and Shane Redmond is at Eastwood, so we've had no back-up to Paul Smith at all.
"Towards the end of November the chance to take players on loan closes, so we needed to cover that period.
"We've made a move a little bit before that but I think that's wise. We've brought in a player with good Championship experience and he brings competition to the No.1 spot.
"Now we've got two experienced goalkeepers, which leads to me having to make a decision.
"I'm delighted we've been able to capture someone with a good reputation who had a particularly good time of things last season.
"He's a firm favourite with the fans down at QPR and I think his arrival bodes well for our future. It certainly makes us stronger." Nottingham Forest

-LEE Camp has been brought to Nottingham Forest to kick-start a fierce fight for the goalkeeper's position, Colin Calderwood said today.
- The 24-year-old is expected to be handed his first start when Ipswich visit the City Ground tomorrow night, after joining on loan from QPR.
- But manager Calderwood still expects Paul Smith to put up a tough battle for his first team place, over the coming months.
- "We have brought Lee in who has good Championship experience and brings competition to the number-one spot," he said.
- "Now we have suddenly got two experienced goalkeepers which immediately leads to us having to make a decision.
I am not going to give out my team selection in public. But we will have a look at Lee in training and I am delighted we have been able to capture him, a player with his reputation."
- Calderwood said he was inspired to move into the transfer market after allowing all three of their young back-up stoppers to go out on loan to gain valuable experience.
- "We have been running very skinny in the goalkeeper department recently," said Calderwood. "Dale Roberts has gone out to Rushden and Diamonds, Paddy Gamble is at Mansfield, Shane Redmond is at Eastwood Town - so we have had no back up at all.
"The chance to take people on loan ends towards the end of November so we had to act before then. We have done it a little earlier, but that is wise I think." Nottingham Evening Post

Barnet's former QPR player, Kieron St Aimie is back at Barnet

Barnet striker Kieron St Aimie has returned to the Bees after a loan spell at Blue Square Premier outfit Grays Athletic.
The versatile striker scored two goals in six appearances for the non-league side during his month-long loan.
