Skysports - Vignal on trial with Blues
-Birmingham have taken former Liverpool and Portsmouth defender Gregory Vignal on trial.
- The 28-year-old left-back, who has been released by Ligue 1 side Lens, will feature in the Blues' friendly match against Sporting Gijon on Saturday.
- Alex McLeish is currently looking at options for the position due to fitness problems for David Murphy and Franck Queudrue, and he has turned to Vignal after seemingly missing out on a loan move for Arsenal's Armand Traore.
- Vignal recently had a trial at Championship side QPR, but boss Jim Magilton decided against pursuing the deal." Skysports

Herald (Ireland) Miller still searching for a club
- LIAM MILLER is still waiting to find a club for the new season, just days before he's due to line up for Ireland against Australia, writes Aidan Fitzmaurice.
- Miller is a free agent after his exit from QPR earlier this summer, but despite interest from several clubs in the Premier League and Championship, no deal has been done so far for the Cork native.
- Championship sides Preston North End and West Brom are interested, with Preston being favourites, but the midfielder may have to wait until after the Australia game to find a club...." Herald

The Guardian/Josh Ashdown Championship Preview
"....QPR have again splashed the cash with the £3.5m signing of Argentine midfielder Alejandro Faurlin but their recent track record with foreign imports (Samuel Di Carmine, Emmanuel Ledesma, Daniel Parejo were last summer's arrivals) is not great and it's hard to see them troubling the top two. The play-offs will most likely also be beyond them, just as they will be for Preston, who over-achieved so brilliantly last year." Guardian

QPR Official Site - OFF THE FIELD IMPROVEMENTS
- Whilst Jim Magilton has been busy in the transfer market this summer, bringing in Alejandro Faurlin, Adel Taarabt and Alessandro Pellicori, off the field, the work has been equally impressive.
- The introduction of a new Access Control system will provide Rangers supporters with a far more trouble-free and straightforward entry system on matchdays.
- Instead of a Season Ticket booklet with vouchers that had to be presented for each match, supporters now have a convenient size card with a unique bar code printed on it.
- The new system should enable fans to enter the Stadium more smoothly, as vouchers will no longer need to be detached from booklets, or ticket stubs be torn.
- Supporters are advised to hold their card ready to show to the turnstile operator with the bar code facing up and towards the operator. They will have a hand held scanner to read and authenticate the bar code on your card.
- Stadium Director, John MacDonald, told www.qpr.co.uk: "The introduction of AccessManager and TicketFast technology very much brings us in line with a number of the big Clubs in this country, whilst also allowing us to move into the 21st century and be a huge benefit to our fans.
- "It gives the Club enhanced access control, and allows us to make full use of our continued investment in innovative ticketing solutions, which will ultimately benefit our fans as well."
- What's more, the introduction of three new disabled toilets in the Ellerslie Road stand, coupled with brand new kiosks around the entire ground, will allow R's fans far greater fluidity on a matchday.
- Furthermore, a new PA system will provide Rangers supporters with a far clearer sound when PA Billy Rice is waxing lyrical before kick-off, and all this looking out on a newly-laid playing surface.
- Deputy MD, Ali Russell, added: "We're doing everything we can to enhance the already positive matchday experience we have on offer at Loftus Road.
- "Our operations team have worked tirelessly over the summer months to improve the facilities available to our supporters, and we're delighted with the results."
