- QPR have already started compiling a short-list for their next new manager - with Lothar Matthaus a possible shock outside candidate.
- Rangers have yet to win in five games under Mick Harford after he succeeded Paul Hart last month as the club's tenth manager since Flavio Briatore took over as chairman in 2007.
- Harford is contracted at Loftus Road until the end of the season.
- And Rangers hierarchy have already decided to bring in a new coach then to replace him.
- The club ideally want a young English coach like Gareth Southgate but German legend Matthaus is on their radar.
- The midfielder turned manager, 48, is now out of work following spells with Rapid Vienna, Partisan Belgrade, Hungary, Atletico Paranaense, Red Bull Salzburg and Maccabi Netanya.
- He was in the QPR directors' box to witness their latest defeat at home to Ipswich on Tuesday night.
- And Harford is under no illusions the team have not been performing well enough recently for Rangers' ambitious owners.
