Sky Sports - Ambrose saga irks Warnock - Rangers boss will not increase bid for Eagles ace Last updated: 20th June 2010
- QPR boss Neil Warnock has aired his frustration at the ongoing transfer saga regarding Darren Ambrose.
- The Rangers manager thought he had agreed a deal for the Crystal Palace midfielder and was set to bring him to Loftus Road.
- However, that move was put in place while the Eagles struggled under the weight of financial upheaval and summer sales looked inevitable.
- Since then they have secured new investment and the need to cash in on their top talents has eased.
- As a result, they feel they now have every right to demand a higher fee for Ambrose - who was a revelation for the club last season.
- Warnock, though, has been left fuming by the actions of his former employers and insists he will not be budging from the fee he has already had accepted.
- "Palace's new consortium think he's worth more," said the irate coach.
- "We're talking £750,000 and add ons up to £1m. I won't be going any higher than that.
- "Darren, I'm sure, will be disappointed if he doesn't come." Skysports
