Sky Sports - Tosic set for Red Star
- Championship duo miss out on defender
..Skysports.com understands former Portsmouth defender Dusko Tosic is set to snub interest from England to join Red Star Belgrade.
- Tosic is available on a free transfer after his registration at Portsmouth was withheld by the Premier League.
- Portsmouth signed Tosic as a free agent in February, but due to the club's financial plight the Premier League stopped the club from securing his services.
- The defender had a spell on loan at Queens Park Rangers last season and he impressed at Loftus Road.
- QPR and Leeds expressed an interest in signing Tosic, but Red Star have stolen a march on the English duo by luring him back to Serbia.
- Tosic is believed to have agreed a one-year deal at Red Star with the lure of playing in Europe next season too good to turn down. Skysports
SPORTING LIFE - JONES EXPECTS MORE QPR RECRUITS
- QPR assistant manager Mick Jones expects more activity in the transfer market.
- Manager Neil Warnock has already completed the signings of Jamie Mackie, Leon Clarke, Paddy Kenny, Shaun Derry and Clint Hill ahead of the new Championship campaign, and Jones believes there will be more new signings to arrive at Loftus Road.
- When asked about the club's progress in the transfer market, Jones told QPR Player: "They've gone quite well so far with the people we've brought in.
- "Obviously we can't stop there. Negotiations are going on at the moment with Neil. I think about two weeks before the season starts things kick into place and I wouldn't be surprised if we don't make anymore signings until then, but you can rest assured Neil's trying hard." Sporting Life
Evening Chronicle - Boss hoping Routledge will shine in top flight

- CHRIS HUGHTON is hoping that Newcastle United winger Wayne Routledge can pick up where he left off during the Toon’s sparkling Championship title-winning run.
Routledge was one of the stars of the show for the Magpies during the second half of the season.
And after making 17 appearances, contributing seven assists and scoring three goals, United fans will want to see more of the same from the speedy wing king.
Routledge wasn’t given the first-team opportunities he craved at Aston Villa or Spurs in the Premier League and will be hungry to show what he can do next season for the black-and-whites.
Hughton – who pulled off a coup when he signed Routledge from QPR in January – told the Chronicle today: “It will be great to see Wayne back in the Premier League – he came in last January and he’s a player who has got Premier League experience for us.
“He’s at an age now where he’s matured and he’s a very fit lad.
“It’s a lovely challenge for Wayne to get stuck into next season.”
And Hughton says that Routledge has been quick out of the blocks in pre-season training as United went into day three of their summer programme at the club’s Benton base.
He said: “I know Wayne from Tottenham and he’s a lad who really enjoys pre-season because he’s such a good athlete.
“He’s been at a few clubs now and he’s got the maturity now.
“He’s approaching the next few years of his career when he will be in his prime.
“I hope that he can continue that good start for us.” Newcastle Evening Chronicle
