Moen Not Done Deal? - Paul Warburton/Fulham Chronicle -
Neil Warnock sends warning over Petter Vaagan Moen deal

- QPR boss Neil Warnock has warned the deal to bring Petter Vaagan Moen to Loftus Road is far from done.
- The manager has set his sights on the Norwegian because he insists the international can challenge regulars in the Rs midfield.
- The 26-year-old is available on a free when his contract at Brann Bergen runs out in January, but the player’s agent and Rs are still haggling over the fine details.
- Warnock said: “I like the look of the lad – and although he’s been described as a left-winger I can see him better suited to midfield.
- “At the moment, we’ve got no real cover for Adel Taarabt and Ali Faurlin. And it’s no secret we’re not the biggest squad in the world – as injuries and suspensions have shown over the last couple of weeks Fulham Chronicle

- Preston boss Darren Ferguson is lining up a loan move for QPR defender Mikele Leigertwood.
Ferguson has already brought Stoke duo Michael Tonge and Danny Pugh and Manchester United defender Richie De Laet to Championship cellar dwellers Preston on loan this week.
Now, he will try and snap up Leigertwood after Preston face QPR on Saturday Mirror

Yann Tear/Uxbridge Gazette - QPR boss Warnock blasts Scotland chief
- NEIL WARNOCK is furious with Scotland boss Craig Levein for playing Jamie Mackie for 90 minutes in Tuesday night's friendly against the Faroe Islands in Aberdeen.
- The striker (pictured) ended his recent club goal drought with his first international strike just before half-time in a 3-0 win, but the QPR boss was far from thrilled.

“Mackie's come back a bit tired and I'm disappointed in Scotland not taking him off,” Warnock said angrily.

“But I guess we're not in the Champions League are we? They took off Darren Fletcher of Man United – players like that. We don't want to upset them do we!

“They took Kris Commons off and he doesn't run anyhow. Jamie Mackie runs his socks off every game and I don't think he should have played the whole game.

“I didn't ask them not to play Mackie for 90 minutes because I thought they'd know he'd played four games in 10 days.

“When I rang him [Levine] yesterday, I don't think he was aware of it. I think they should know how many minutes their players have played and not abuse it.

“If it's a proper game with points at stake in a European qualifier, maybe, but they're beating Faroes 3-0 at half-time. What is that all about?”

The Hoops boss added he would brief the Scotland boss in future if he thinks his striker needs sparing. “He'll know from me from now on,” Warnock said.

“There's no way I can rest him on Saturday either because we need him.” Gazette

Gazette/Yann Tear - Kyle Walker Injury adds to QPR selection dilemmas Nov 18 QPR v Preston North End Preview

AN ANKLE injury picked up by Kyle Walker in training has left Neil Warnock with a potential headache for Saturday's clash with Preston North End.

The return of Matt Connolly after serving a one match ban should mean the re-instatement of his preferred back four, but the Rs boss must wait and see.

Warnock will be anxious for Walker (pictured) to recover so he avoids having to deploy Jamie Mackie at right back as he did at Nottingham Forest last week.

“He took a bad knock and we're going to wait until the last minute,” said the Hoops chief, who does not have the option of using the suspended Bradley Orr, who sits out one more game.

Heidar Helguson also faces a late fitness test as he recovers from a neck injury, but he will not automatically replace Rob Hulse in the starting XI even if fit, Warnock said.

The other decision to make is who to play alongside Alejandro Faurlin in the absence of Shaun Derry – who is banned for a game for accumulating yellow cards.

Both Martin Rowlands and Gavin Mahon – whose contract has been extended by a month – are in the frame.

Mikele Leigertwood is less likely because he only returns from international duty in the Caribbean on Friday night.

Adel Taarabt has a sore groin and has stuck to light training but he should be fine. At least he did not have an international with Morocco to tire him this week – the striker having carried out his threat to boycott his country's midweek game in Belfast.

Warnock fully expects bottom of the table Preston to be every bit as tricky this week as top of the table Cardiff will be next week.

*It will be one of our most difficult games because of where they are and because everyone will expect us to win,” Warnock said.

“They will be like wounded animals. They've got three Premier League players in on loan and it's not the performance that matters this week, but the result.

“I think if we can get over this Saturday, I'll be delighted, because we should be back to pretty much decent strength for next weekend and the Cardiff game.” Gazette
